That whole WordPress thing
So Matt tried to get money out of WP Engine. They resisted. He blocked their access to wordpress.org. They filed a lawsuit. He starts going around online making the case himself, answering randos, threatening former employees, having his lawyers create a Google doc that poorly refutes opinions about his approach, stealing an actively maintained commercial plugin, and writing an unhinged blog post in response to DHH of 37signals calling him out.
He's totally trashing his own rep and the trustworthiness of WordPress. But at least we get this gem:
